In a bizarre crossover event that defies traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the formal release, "A mysterious meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of prohibited practices and monstrous transformations resonate through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret cult.
The questline concentrates on "peculiar trials and a monstrous foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Bonus Material
Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside several items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also adds the game's third no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
